Spring trail repair and cleanup day – Saturday June 1, 2013
Each Spring the Winnipesaukee River Trail Association holds a trail repair and cleanup day. This year we are again having the repair and cleanup day on National Trails Day – June 1st starting at 9am.
We will be working on the Tilton end of the trail. Volunteers are asked to assemble in the parking lot near the Super 8 Motel at 9am. If possible, please bring rakes, shovels, clippers, etc. Please dress in work clothes. If we get enough volunteers, the projects should be completed in just a few hours. We invite everyone to walk the trail after they are done working!
Part of this year’s repairs will be to fill in several washed out areas next to the trail with gravel. We have several people lined up with small tractors with bucket loaders to transport the gravel from the trail head to the affected areas. Volunteers will be needed to rake and level the gravel in that area.
Other projects are basic trash and debris removal, clipping back overhanging branches, etc.
There isn’t any need to sign-up in advance, but please add this to your calendar and come on out to help us maintain the trail!
